Geographical Location 
Lucban, subtly nestled at the foot of the majestic Mount Banahaw de Lucban, which towers 1,875 meters above sea level, is about 26 kilometers from Lucena City , the provincial capital. It is located on the Northwestern border of Quezon Province with geographical coordinates of 12 degrees, 33 minutes east longitude and 14 degrees, 7 minutes North latitude.

Lying on a slope of Northeast of Mt. Banahaw, it stands at an elevation of 1, 500 feet above sea level. It is bounded on the north by Luisiana, Laguna; on the west by Majayjay, Laguna; on the east by Sampaloc, Quezon and on the south by Tayabas, Quezon.

Lucban is approximately 160 kilometers from Metro Manila via Lucena City and 133 kilometers from Metro Manila via Sta Cruz-Pagsanjan route in Laguna and accessible by land transportation. Average travel time is three and a half hours.





Climate
Cool and humid with an average of 285 rainy days a year, a high mean annual rainfall of 3,053 millimeters.

The mean average annual temperature ranges from 23.9°C. The coldest months are from November to March with a mean average temperature of 25.6°C while April to October are the warmest monts with an average temperature of 27.8°C.

Clothing
Light and loose clothes are most practical when walking or traveling. Casual clothing are appropriate and widely acceptable in many occasions. At formal gatherings, the men usually wear the Barong Tagalog (Tagalog shirt) made of fine silk or jusi. Coat and tie is not common although acceptable. The ladies usually come in fashionable formal attire.

Getting Around
Walking is the best way to go around the town. Although tricycle transportation is available for short distances, they are not allowed to ply their route during the Pahiyas Festival. There are numerous jeepneys and mini buses that would take you to nearby towns.

Currency
The unit currency is Philippine peso. Notes are printed in P10, P20, P50, P100, P500 and P1,000 denominations. Coins are minted in P5, P1 and 25c denominations. There is no credit card facility in Lucban as of now. Foreign currency may be exchanged in banks and other authorized foreign exchange dealers.

Accommodation
Hotels have already sprouted in Lucban. Resorts outside the town offers comfortable cottages at reasonable prices. Numerous hotels and resorts are also found in nearby towns and in the capital, Lucena City .

Dining
Filipino cuisine is a blend of Chinese, Spanish and local culinary arts. Lucban is noted for its authentic foods such as the famous pansit Lucban or pansit habhab, Lucban longganisa (local sausage), atsara, pinangat, and delicacies such as espasol, kalamayhati, tamales, tikoy, tinapa and more. Numerous restaurants are found at the town center and in the market offering snacks, lunch, dinner and take out at unbelievably low price. You can also buy fast foods from street hawkers with their push cart in tow selling pansit habhab and other delicacies.



Nightlife
A number of videoke bars, cafes and restaurants have dotted Lucban in the past few years. These bars offer live entertainment on weekends as well as ballroom and disco dancing on special occasions. Most of the spots are open from morning till 12 midnight .

Shopping
Lucban offers various Philippine handicrafts sold at reasonable prices. Some of the best buys are handwoven handicrafts such as buntal/buri hats, placemats, rattan and bamboo craft, home decors and other Philippine-made products. Most of the stores are open from 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM daily.

Tipping
Tipping is acceptable but is not a common practice in Lucban.
