Although many activities and events are being held prior to the festival day, the actual Pahiyas Festival happens only on May 15, observed by Catholics as the feast of Saint Isidore, the patron saint of farmers.
Rain or shine, kiping and other decorations are constructed, displayed and hung starting on May 14, and some even earlier but these colorful houses can be watched for only one whole day of May 15 and dismantled late in the evening. Visitors will not see any decorations on May 16. |
